Purses made from Candy wrappers, old billboards, and even pull tabs from pop cans. I found this company ecoist.com that makes handbags and other accessories from recycled materials. I was amazed to see what this company is doing with recycled stuff. These purses are super-unique looking, and they’re all handmade. They don’t come as cheap as you’d think something made out of old candy wrappers would, but it’s for a good cause, and good fashion. Purses made from recycled materials gives a whole new meaning to vintage fashion.
From Ecoist: “We believe that style comes first. When designing our accessories, it is our basic assumption that no consumer will purchase our products because we are on the mission to save the Earth. Rather, people will buy what looks good on them, or what’s hot, or what celebrities are wearing. However, by promoting our brand, we hope to enhance the planet, elevate consumer consciousness, and transmit our values, not just our sense of style.”

Sarah Jessica Parker launched a new affordable clothing line called “Bitten” for Steve and Barry’s. I’ve Never heard of Steve and Barry’s, but you can preview her line at Bittensjp.com. Who would have thought the woman who played the famous Carrie on Sex ant the City (love her), who spent an easy thousand bucks for a pair of Manolo Blahniks on the show would come out with a clothing line that’s affordable and luxurious? On the Oprah Winfrey show where she unveiled her line, she says, “High quality, luxurious clothes do not need to cost as much as we’ve been led to think.” This is definitely worth checking out!

N.E.E.T. began in December 2005 as a quarterly online publication. Acting as editor-in-chief, founder Stephanie J handpicks and organizes all the content.
Flipping through the N.E.E.T. June 2007 issue, I was impressed with it’s contents, definitely a prime read.

The V2 Flat is basically 450 square-foot fully furnished pad including appliances, cabinetry, furniture, and custom windows. Although small, it’s versatile and cool for a getaway in the middle of the desert. V2 World says the V2Flat has “no geographic limitations.” Since this will all be pretty much customized, they could only give an estimated cost of about $200 per square foot.

A collaboration between Intel and Ziba Design has resulted in the world’s thinnest laptop (and deadly sweet looking), dubbed the ‘Mobile Metro’ for now. On the outside shell you can see the second display it will have, with the whole laptop being only 0.7-inches thick and weighing in at only 2.25 lbs making it one of the lightest too.

I had to post about this, because it’s in the shape of a submarine (actually there’s no really good reason). This is something you would definitely look twice at walking through the streets. Grab it for $75 over at KateSpade.com.

Cool new cupcake shirts by Johnny Cupcakes. Wait, what? huh? How in the hell did this start? It actually started as a joke by John Earle a.k.a Johnny Cupcakes (interview) in 2001. Well, his stuff was so hot, Urban Outfitters decided to rip it off!
Anyway, his stuff is still prime, UO’s needs work. Most of the shirts are limited editions and will run you around $35.99 - belts, necklaces and other stuff is also for sale.
