Some art lasts a lifetime, but hurry because the art at the Chicago Museum of Modern Ice only lasts 14 more days (Feb. 1-29)! This world class exhibit is located in Millennium Park and features a 100ft. long and 10ft. high colored ice wall by Canadian artist Gordon Halloran titled, Paintings Below Zero. You definitely don’t want to miss out on an experience like this so hurry up and start planning before the ice melts! Chicago Museum of Modern Ice.

And while you’re at it…you will be in Chicago so you might as well live it up and check out the Magnificent Mile which is packed with tons of shopping, dine at some lovely restaurants and check out the Chicago nightlife, and stay at a trendy hotel, like my favorite, The W Chicago Lakeshore.

Aurora Jewelry Projects Light Onto You

January 16th, 2008 by Deej

Here’s a futuristic new jewelry concept by Kyeok Kim. The worn jewelry would project light onto you and maybe even change depending on how you feel. Something tells me that wouldn’t always be a good thing. But anyway this is a concept and no announcements for production have been made. More Images

Factory Girl

January 13th, 2008 by AlanaBee

Need a great movie to watch while your locked away from the bitter cold this winter? I recommend Factory Girl directed by George Hicklooper. A movie that follows the life of Edie Sedgwick, the 1960’s “It Girl”. Edie befriends legendary Andy Warhol and the two take their bohemian world by storm. But once Edie drifts from Warhol and falls in love with a rock star, her world splits in two away from Warhol’s factory, and out of control. The movie focuses on the Pop Art universe of sex, drugs, style and rock ‘n’ roll. Starring Sienna Miller (Edie Sedgwick), Guy Pearce (Andy Warhol), and Hayden Christensen. You can own the sexy provocative film now on DVD. To see more about this move click here.

‘Coco’ Combines Old, New to Produce Fashionable Illustrations

After searching for nothing in particular online, I tripped over Coco and her killer work.  As an Illustrator and consultant to the fashion world, she mixes several techniques in her art. Coco leverages her use of painting, drawing and ceramics, by composing them together in Photoshop. “Living between Paris and London…” is one way Coco finds inspiration. Check her portfolio.

Sofia Coppola & Andrew Durham’s Top 11 of 2007

December 25th, 2007 by Deej

Sofia Coppola & Andrew Durham’s Top 11 of 2007 is a quick and to the point list of the best in art, film, music, and more. This is for those drooling for more than the typically dry predictable ‘best of’ lists that pop-up around this time of year.  Thank you.

Posted by V Magazine, two 0f my (and maybe your) favorites made this particular list: David Lynch’s first feature film in five years, Inland Empire - and of course, the iPhone (not failing to soak up as much press coverage as possible).  Another great pick from this list is The Dan Flavin retrospective; minimalism at it’s fluorescent best. Enjoy the rest of the list here.
