Draped Silk Dress by Alexander McQueen

January 29th, 2008 by Margeaux

I was skimming over some spring dresses, and stumbled upon this interesting piece by Alexander McQueen. This draped silk dress is just a little weird to me. I understand that designers are always looking for new ways to express themselves, and create exciting sillouhettes, but this is just not flattering. It looks like her backside is literally frowning at me in this picture- maybe it wants out of this dress! But perhaps there is something I don’t see here, this dress is going for $2,280.00 at Bergdorf Goodman.

Target Shoppers, Say Farewell to Isaac Mizrahi

January 16th, 2008 by Margeaux

The news was broken today that Isaac Mizrahi will be leaving Target to become the creative director for Liz Claiborne. This new line will be revealed in Spring 2009, and will be a much anticipated collection. I’ll miss browsing the racks at Target, and seeing the Isaac Mizrahi label on the surprising, and stylish garments, but will look foward to seeing the new line. The customer base is different, but I have a feeling that Mizrahi’s flare will show through and be recognizable to the loyal Target shoppers (like myself). Read more about Mizrahi’s Major Move.

December 25th, 2007 by Deej

Sofia Coppola & Andrew Durham’s Top 11 of 2007 is a quick and to the point list of the best in art, film, music, and more. This is for those drooling for more than the typically dry predictable ‘best of’ lists that pop-up around this time of year.  Thank you.

Posted by V Magazine, two 0f my (and maybe your) favorites made this particular list: David Lynch’s first feature film in five years, Inland Empire - and of course, the iPhone (not failing to soak up as much press coverage as possible).  Another great pick from this list is The Dan Flavin retrospective; minimalism at it’s fluorescent best. Enjoy the rest of the list here.
